Working with project teams
The Project Teams page displays a list of the project teams that have been created in Asta Connect.
To access the Project Teams page, click Project Teams in the left pane.
You can use project teams to organise your users into logical teams. For example, you could group all users who are plumbers into a 'Plumbers' team, and all users who are bricklayers into a 'Bricklayers' team. When using a whiteboard to manage pull plans, you can create a swimlane for each project team that needs to work on a project, then move the tasks on the whiteboard into the appropriate swimlane to group tasks by project team.
For each project team, the following information is displayed:
- Team Name: the name that has been given to the project team.
- Task Colour: the colour that is applied to all tasks that are dragged onto that project team's swimlane in the whiteboard.
- Pull Plan Default: whether a swimlane for the project team should appear automatically in the whiteboard of each pull plan that you create.
- Team Members: the users that are assigned to the project team.
- Project Tags: any project tags that have been assigned to the project team.
A check box is displayed to the left of each project team. You can use these check boxes to delete multiple project teams.
Depending on your access rights, you may not be able to carry out all of the actions described below.
To create a project team in Asta Connect, on the Project Teams page, click New Project Team.
To view and edit a project team's details, on the Project Teams page, click the project team in the list. The Edit Project Team dialog appears. You can also use this dialog to delete individual project teams.
To delete multiple project teams:
- You can only delete multiple project teams if they appear on the same page of the project team list. For this reason, if the project team list is spread over more than one page, you may find it helpful to use the dropdown control at the bottom of the list on the Project Teams page to display a large number of project teams on each page:
- Select the check boxes to the left of the project teams you want to delete.
- Click Delete Selected Items. You are asked to confirm whether you want to delete the selected project teams. If you click Yes, the project teams are deleted, provided that they are not being used as a swimlane in the whiteboard of one or more pull plans, and you see a confirmation of how many project teams have been deleted. If any of the selected project teams are being used as a swimlane, those specific project teams are not deleted.
