Creating whiteboard swimlanes based on project teams

You can use project teams to organise your users into logical teams. For example, you could group all users who are plumbers into a 'Plumbers' team, and all users who are bricklayers into a 'Bricklayers' team. When using a whiteboard to manage pull plans, you can create a swimlane for each project team that needs to work on a project, then move the tasks on the whiteboard into the appropriate swimlane to group tasks by project team.

To create a swimlane for a project team in a pull plan's whiteboard:

  1. Click Pull Plans in the left pane. The Pull Plans page appears.
  2. Click a pull plan in the list.
  3. Click Whiteboard.
  4. If the whiteboard swimlanes currently represent build locations, click the Swimlanes control and select Project Teams to display a swimlane for each project team.
  5. On the Pull Plan Whiteboard page, click a downward-pointing arrow at the bottom-right of an existing swimlane to display the swimlane menu:

    The swimlane menu
  6. Click Insert Swimlane Above to insert a new swimlane immediately above the existing swimlane, or click Insert Swimlane Below to insert a new swimlane immediately beneath the existing swimlane. The Insert Swimlane Above or Insert Swimlane Below dialog appears.
  7. A Project Team field is displayed in the dialog. Select the project team for which you want to create a swimlane - for example 'Bricklayers' or 'Concrete Services' - and click Insert. A new swimlane for the selected project team appears on the whiteboard:

    A new swimlane

If you want to create a swimlane for a project team that has not yet been created, you can click New Project Team in the Insert Swimlane Above or Insert Swimlane Below dialog to create the new project team. Once you have created the new project team, a swimlane for that team is added to the whiteboard.
