Creating project teams

You use the New Project Team dialog to create a project team that can be used to organise your users into logical groups.

To access the New Project Team dialog, click Project Teams in the left pane, then click New Project Team. You can also access this dialog by clicking New Project Team in the Insert Swimlane Above and Insert Swimlane Below dialogs.

To create a new project team:

  1. On the New Project Team dialog, enter a descriptive name for the project team in the Team Name field.
  2. Select colours to apply to the project team in the Task Colour and Task Text Colour fields. These colours are applied to all tasks that are dragged into the project team's swimlane in the whiteboard.

If you select a very light colour in the Task Text Colour field, you may find it difficult to read information about the project team's baseline tasks when you display baseline information in the whiteboard. If you find it difficult to read information about a project team's baseline tasks, select a darker colour in the Task Text Colour field.
  3. To create a swimlane for this project team automatically in the whiteboard of each pull plan that you create, click the Pull Plan Default toggle. If you turn this toggle off, a swimlane is not created automatically for this project team in each pull plan's whiteboard, but you can add one manually if you wish.
  4. To assign users to the project team, click Members, then click the dropdown and select the users that should be assigned to the team. You can select any number of users.

Any users that you select are added to the list of assigned users beneath the Members field. Click a dustbin icon to the right of a user to unassign it.
  5. Click the Project Tags dropdown and select any project tags that are applicable. You can select any number of project tags.
Any tags that you select are added to the list of assigned tags beneath the Project Tags field. Click a dustbin icon to the right of a project tag to unassign it.
  6. Click Save. The project team is created and you are returned to the Project Teams page, where the new project team appears in the project team list.
