Viewing a history of licence additions, moves and loans

You use the Licence History tab of the Asta Licence Manager to view a history of all licence additions and all licence moves and loans - both to and from a licence server.

If the Include 'insufficient licence errors' in the history data display check box is selected on the Options tab, this tab also displays all instances of cases in which a client was unable to use Elecosoft software because all of the available licences were already being consumed.

If you use more than one licence server, you can view details of each licence server by entering the name of the computer on which it is installed in the Server name field and clicking Refresh. Alternatively, click Browse to search the network for the computer on which the licence server is installed. Note that this tab will be blank if the selected licence server is an older version that does not support the recording of historical data.

The following information about each event is displayed in the Licence history grid, with each line in the grid corresponding to a licence addition, move or loan event (and optionally, to an insufficient licence error event):

You can sort the information in the Licence history grid according to the information in any column by clicking the heading of a column. To switch between sorting the information in ascending and descending order, click a column heading more than once.

You can configure Asta Licence Manager to update the information on this tab automatically, using the Automatically refresh displayed data check box on the Options tab. If you choose not to update the information automatically, you can update it manually at any time by clicking Refresh.

Click Copy to copy the information from the Licence history grid to the Windows Clipboard, from where you can paste it into another application, for example a word processor or a spreadsheet.

In rare circumstances, you may need to supply Elecosoft's Technical Support department with your licence history information. Click Email to send an email containing the details directly to the Technical Support department.
