Adding a new licence to a licence server

You use the Add tab of the Asta Licence Manager to add new licences to a licence server. You do this by pasting the licence code that you receive from Elecosoft's Technical Support department into the tab. In order to receive a licence code from Elecosoft's Technical Support department, you must first generate a licence request key and send it to the Technical Support department. Once the Technical Support department receive your request key and process your request, they will email you a licence code.

To use a licence code that you have received to add a new licence to a licence server:

  1. Enter the name of the computer on which the licence server to which you want to add a licence is installed in the Server name field. You must specify the same licence server as the one for which you requested a new licence. Alternatively, click Browse to search the network for a licence server.
  2. Copy the licence code that you have received from Elecosoft's Technical Support department to the Windows Clipboard.
  3. Click Paste to paste the licence code into the Licence key field.
  4. Click Add.

A licence of the type you requested is added to the selected licence server. You can check that the licence has been added by viewing the number of licences that are available on the licence server.
