Downloading a specific revision of a programme
You use the Download page to download a specific revision of a programme, and optionally a specific revision of a baseline, to your computer. You may want to do this to view a programme in detail and to compare it against a baseline without having to check it out. You normally use Asta Powerproject to download programmes, but you can also download programmes using the Asta Vision website, as described below.
To access the Download page from the Asta Vision Home page:
- Click Projects. The Projects page appears.
- Click the name of the project whose programme you want to download. The Projects page appears.
- Click the appropriate programme type hyperlink at the top of the page to view the tab of the programme you want to download.
- Click Download on the programme's tab.
If you want to make changes to a programme, do not download it; check it out instead.
Downloading a programme differs from checking out a programme as follows:
Downloading | Checking out |
---|---|
Other users are able to check out the programme and make changes to it. | Other users are unable to check out the programme until you have checked it in. |
You cannot upload any changes that you make to the programme. | Any changes that you make to the programme are uploaded when you check in the programme. |
If you use global libraries in Asta Vision, a warning appears when you download a revision of a programme, informing you that the global library file may be out of date.
To download a specific revision of a programme:
- On the Download page, select the revision of the programme that you want to download in the Revision field. Details of the revision are displayed in the Revision created by and Revision description fields.
- If you want to download a specific revision of a baseline, select the revision of the baseline that you want to download in the Baseline revision field.
- Click Download. If you are downloading the programme only, the programme's PP file is downloaded to your computer; if you are downloading the programme and a baseline, a zip file containing both programme and baseline are downloaded to your computer, with the baseline appearing as an imported baseline in the programme.
