Display status indicators in the spreadsheet |
Select this check box to display an indicator in the spreadsheet to identify the status of tasks. When displayed, the status indicator appears in the left side of the Bar name, Task name and Name columns in the spreadsheet.
When displayed in the spreadsheet, the indicator shows red for critical tasks that have not yet started; blue and red for critical tasks that have started; green for non-critical tasks that have not yet started; blue and green for non-critical tasks that have started; and blue for tasks that are complete.
|
Show sort bands in the bar chart |
Select this check box to display any colouring that you apply to sort/group subheadings in the bar chart as well as in the spreadsheet, or clear the check box to display sort/group subheading colouring in the spreadsheet only.
|
Default currency |
Select the currency to be used by default.
|
Always display amounts in this currency | Select this check box to always display costs using the default currency, or clear the check box to display costs using whichever currency they have been defined in. |
Show code library appearance |
Select this check box to display the appearance of each code library entry next to the name where they appear in the project view and in the Object Edit toolbar, or clear the check box to omit the appearance and display names only.
Displaying the appearance of code library entries in this way makes it easier for you to check that you are assigning the correct code to objects in the bar chart.
|
Use short format in code library bands |
Select this check box to display the name of the code only in sub-headings for banded sorts/groups that sort by code library, or clear the check box to prefix the code name with the words 'Code Library:', followed by the name of the root code library.
For example, if you are sorting/grouping by a code library called Department with the following hierarchy:
|
Sort/group entries by - Name |

Show shading on changed bar lines | Select this check box to show shading behind bars and library objects that you have edited. The shading is removed once you save the project. |
Shading on bars containing archives |
If you use Archive Manager to archive historical information from your projects, specify the colour with which to shade bars from which data has been archived.
You can only archive and restore data if you use Asta Enterprise.
|
Show common information |
Check this box to display the Common tab on Properties dialogs, and common information in the tabs of the properties view, that provides information such as when an object was last edited, who has it locked and if it is booked out, or clear the check box to omit this tab from dialogs.
You may find this information particularly useful if you are using Asta Enterprise, as the tab shows the user to whom the object is locked. |
Show multiple chart headers |
When you select more than one chart or summary task in the project view, the contents of the selected charts are displayed together in the bar chart. You can choose to display a summary task representing each chart when you select multiple charts in the project view, indicating the chart in which each task is located.
Select this check box to display a summary task representing each chart when you select multiple charts in the project view, or clear the check box to display only the contents of each selected chart.
|
Always draw whole milestones |
Select this check box to draw milestones on top of tasks where there is an overlap, or clear the check box to draw tasks and milestones on a bar from left to right, which can result in all or part of a milestone being obscured by a task that appears directly to the right of it.
Specifying how milestones are drawn where they overlap tasks |
Identify non-embedded baselines by - Title | Click this radio button to identify baselines throughout the project by their titles. |
Identify non-embedded baselines by - File name |
Click this radio button to identify baselines throughout the project by their file names.
Embedded baselines are saved as part of the corresponding project file, so they do not have a file name; baselines in Asta Enterprise projects do not have a file name either. For this reason, embedded baselines and Asta Enterprise baselines are always identified by their titles, even if this radio button is selected.
|
ASAP force critical override colour |
Select a colour in this field to display all tasks that are configured to be ASAP Force Critical with a critical appearance using the specified colour rather than the standard critical marking following a reschedule. This makes it easier to differentiate between critical tasks and ASAP Force Critical tasks. Select None to display ASAP Force Critical tasks in the same way as critical tasks.
|
Hide username in view titles |
Select this check box to omit your user name from the tabs that appear at the top of views, or clear the check box to display your user name in these tabs. If you select this check box, you can see more information in the view tabs about what each view displays.
This check box applies only to projects in which more than one user has been defined: the user name is never displayed in view tabs in single-user projects.
