Consumable Allocation Properties dialog - Details tab
You use the Details tab of the Consumable Allocation Properties dialog to view and maintain general details of the selected consumable resource allocation. You can apply a delay to the allocation, specify the calendar to be used by the allocation, exclude the allocation from any project calculations, specify whether the allocation is consumed by or supplied to the task, and specify whether the allocation uses working or elapsed time. You can also access dialogs in which you can edit the properties of the consumable resource and the bar and task to which it is assigned, and specify a priority for the allocation.

To access the Consumable Allocation Properties dialog, right-click a consumable resource allocation and select Properties.

Field/Button | Description |
---|---|
Allocation of | The name of the consumable resource that has been allocated. Click Properties to view and edit the details of the consumable resource. |
Allocated to | The name of the task to which the consumable resource has been allocated. Click Properties to view and edit the details of the task. |
Start | The date and time on which the allocation starts. |
Finish | The date and time on which the allocation finishes. |
Calculated duration | The time taken by the allocation. |
Delay | Specify any delay to apply to the allocation. For example, you may not want paint to be consumed until 2 days after the start of the task. |
Use task calendar |
Select this check box to specify that the allocation should use the calendar of the task to which it is assigned, or clear the check box to apply the resources' calendar to the allocation.
|
Unschedulable |
This check box is selected if the allocation is incapable of being rescheduled for any reason. This can be caused by calendar conflicts, or by the task to which the resource is allocated being part of a link loop.
|
Ignore | Select this check box to specify that the allocation should be excluded from any project calculations. Ignored allocations do not set the start and finish dates or duration of the task to which they are assigned, and are excluded from roll-up values and histograms. |
Lead resource |
As an alternative to colouring tasks according to the codes that are assigned to them, you can configure Asta Powerproject to colour them with the appearance of the lead resource that is assigned to them.
Select this check box to specify that the resource allocation should be considered the lead resource for the corresponding task. If you select this check box, the corresponding task will be displayed with the same appearance that is defined against this allocation's resource, if you choose to colour tasks according to the appearance of their lead resource. Note that you should mark only one resource or cost centre allocation against each task as being the lead resource.
|
Consumed |
Select this check box to specify that the resource is consumed by the task, or clear the check box to specify that it is supplied to the task.
Consumable resources are normally consumed by the task to which they are assigned, but they can be supplied. For example, a consumable resource of Bricks would be consumed, or used, by a Bricklaying task. A consumable resource of Cables would be supplied to a Cable Delivery task. |
Elapsed | Select this check box to specify that the allocation should be calculated according to elapsed time, rather than according to working time as defined by either the resource's or the task's calendar. For example, some resources such as water or electricity may be consumed 24 hours per day instead of only during the working time periods as defined by the calendar. |
Priority |
Select the priority of the allocation, for example None, Low, Medium or High.
|
Zero duration appearance | Select the shape to apply to the resource allocation when it is a milestone, indicating that the allocation occurs at a single point in time. |
Demand/Scheduled | For demand allocations, click this button to view details of the scheduled allocations that satisfy the demand allocation and the demand allocations to or from which the demand allocation has been devolved. For scheduled allocations, click this button to view details of the demand allocation that is satisfied by the scheduled allocation. |
