Assigning a priority to bars, tasks and allocations
You assign a priority to bars using the Bar tab of the Bar and Task Properties dialog; you assign a priority to tasks using the Task tab of the Bar and Task Properties dialog; you assign a priority to allocations using the Details tab of the Allocation Properties dialog.
You can assign a priority of High, Medium, Low and None. Any items without a priority defined are assigned a priority of None.
To assign a priority to a bar, task or allocation:
- Display the Properties dialog for the bar, task or allocation and click the appropriate tab.
- Select the priority you want to assign to the object in the Priority field.
You can also assign a priority to bars, tasks and allocations using the spreadsheet, if the spreadsheet table displays the priority indicator, and to bars and tasks using the Bar and Task tabs of the properties view.
To assign a priority to a bar, task or allocation using the spreadsheet:
- Click the spreadsheet priority indicator for the bar, task or allocation. If a priority has not been defined for the item, the indicator either appears grey as illustrated below, or does not appear at all:
- When you click the indicator, it turns into a dropdown list. Select the priority you want to assign to the object from the list.
