Creating, saving and opening views
If you edit a view, any changes that you make to the view are saved when you save the project, regardless of whether or not the view is currently active. Any other tabs that display the same view are not updated with the changes that you have made to the view until you close and reopen them.
To create a new view, you can do either of the following:
- Save the current view under a new name by clicking Save As in the Views group on the View tab.
- Create a new view based on the current view by clicking New in the Views group on the View tab.
When you use the New command to create a new bar chart view, you can specify a table, filter, sort/group and default print profile to apply to the view; when you use the New command to create a new calendar view, you can specify a filter and default print profile. when you use the Save As command, these settings are derived from the current view but you can change them later. You specify whether a view is a project view or a user view when you create it.
