Opening a view

To open a view, select it from the list of views in the View - View menu. If you have categorised views, each category appears on this menu as a further submenu, with the views within each category appearing as menu commands within each submenu.

When you open a view, it opens using the Programme chart as its scope by default. If you want to open a view using the scope of the current active view, hold down CTRL when selecting the view from the list of views. If you do this, the view opens displaying whichever charts or summary groups provide the scope of the current active view. If you are currently viewing an RBS or CBS view and choose to open a different view, the view opens displaying whichever resources or cost centres provide the scope of the current active RBS or CBS view.

Some views may not be displayed on the menu. To open a view that is not displayed on the menu:

  1. On the View tab, in the Views group, click the View dropdown and select More Views. The More Views dialog appears.
  2. Select the view you want to open.
  3. If you want to open the view using the scope of the current active view, select the Open using the active view scope check box.
  4. Click OK to open the view.

Whenever you open a view, it is added to the list of open tabs. To work on a view that you have already opened and edited, click its tab. If you open another instance of the view, this second tab will not contain any unsaved changes that you may have made in the first tab.
