Marking progress using the Object Edit toolbar

You can mark progress on tasks and allocations using the % progress control on the Object Edit toolbar. This control marks progress on tasks and allocations either as a percentage of task duration or as an overall percentage complete, depending on which radio button is selected in the Ribbon, toolbar progress controls and percent complete field group on the Progress tab of the Options dialog.

To mark progress using the Object Edit toolbar:

  1. Select the tasks and/or allocations that you want to progress with the same percentage and in the same progress period.
  2. Right-click % progress and select the progress period in which you want to mark progress from the list that appears. Locked progress periods do not appear in the list. .
  3. Click % progress and select a progress percentage, or type a percentage into the field.

All the selected tasks and allocations are marked with the specified percentage of progress.

If a task has one or more task activities, the only way to mark progress against it is by marking progress against the task activities themselves - all other methods of marking progress are unavailable for such tasks.
