Bar and Task Properties dialog - Bar tab
You use the Bar tab of the Bar and Task Properties dialog to view and maintain the properties of the selected bar(s).

To access the Bar and Task Properties dialog, right-click a bar or task in the bar chart and select Properties.

Field | Description |
---|---|
Name | Enter a descriptive name to apply to the bar. |
Start | The date and time on which the earliest task on the bar starts. |
Finish | The date and time on which the latest task on the bar finishes. |
Unschedulable |
This check box is selected if one or more of the tasks on the bar is incapable of being rescheduled for any reason. This can be caused by calendar conflicts, or by a task being part of a link loop.

Priority |
Select the priority of the bar, for example None, Low, Medium or High.

Mark for hiding |
Select this check box to specify that you want to hide this bar from view in the project. If this check box is selected, the bar will be hidden from view when you click

Tasks may overlap |
Select this check box to specify that the tasks on this bar can overlap. You may want to do this in order to plan a unit network in which tasks can overlap on a single bar, rather than planning it over a number of bars, to save space.

Field | Description |
---|---|
Cost from cost centre | The costs that have been recorded against the bar's tasks, either from a selected cost centre or from all cost centres. |
Income to cost centre | The income that has been recorded against the bar's tasks, either to a selected cost centre or to all cost centres. |
Cost centre | Select a cost centre in order to view cost and income information relating to that cost centre only, or select All to view cost and income information relating to all cost centres. |
Budgeted cost |
A field primarily intended for use in projects that have been imported from, or that are intended to be exported to, Primavera® software.
In Primavera software, the Budgeted cost field can be used to record the budget cost of items without the need to use a baseline. When you import a project from Primavera software, resource and cost allocation information from this field in Primavera software is imported into this field in

Actual quantity | The quantity of consumable resource that has been completed on the bar's tasks. |
Quantity remaining | The quantity that remains to be completed against the bar's tasks. |
Actual work | The amount of work that has been completed on the bar's tasks. |
Work remaining | The work that remains to be completed against the bar's tasks. |
Actual effort | The amount of effort that has been completed on the bar's tasks. |
Effort remaining | The amount of effort that remains to be completed against the bar's tasks. |
Milestones done | The number of milestones on the bar that have been completed. |
Remaining | The number of milestones on the bar that remain to be completed. |
Effort percent complete | The percentage of required effort that has been completed against the bar's tasks. |
Work percent complete | The percentage of required work that has been completed against the bar's tasks. |
Quantity percent complete | The percentage of required quantity that has been completed against the bar's tasks. |
Milestone percent complete | The percentages of milestones on the bar that have been completed. |

Library | This column displays an entry for each available code library. |
Entry | Select one or more codes from each code library that you want to assign to the bar. |

Value | Enter a value for each user-defined field. |

Archived charts/summaries | Any charts or summary groups that have been archived from the bar (Asta Enterprise only). You can view details of archived charts or summary groups by selecting them and clicking Properties. |
The Bar and Task Properties dialog may or may not display three tabs that display advanced information: Allocations, Links and Relations. If these three tabs are not currently displayed, you can click More >> to display them. If they are currently displayed, you can click Less << to hide them from view.
