Constraint fields
For each field listed below, the following information is given:
- Description - the information displayed by the field when added to the spreadsheet or to a text annotation.
- Parameters - any additional, optional parameters that you can use to modify the information that the field displays or the way in which the information is displayed.
- Editable? - whether the field is editable when displayed in a spreadsheet column. If a field is editable in the spreadsheet, you can change the data displayed in the column to edit the properties of the corresponding bar, task or allocation.
Buffer task
| Description |
Whether a task has been defined as a 'buffer task', ie one that can shrink or expand in size to consume any float, protecting a finish date or any successor tasks and acting as a contingency.
For more information, refer to Working with buffer tasks. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Can be delayed
| Description |
Whether a task or allocation can be delayed by resource levelling.
For more information, refer to Setting resource levelling options. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Can be split
| Description |
Whether a task or allocation can be split by resource levelling.
For more information, refer to Setting resource levelling options. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Can be stretched
| Description |
Whether a task or allocation can be stretched by resource levelling.
For more information, refer to Setting resource levelling options. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Constraint
| Description |
The type of constraint flag (if any) applied to a task.
For more information, refer to Using constraints. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Finish constraint date
| Description |
The date of a task's finish constraint flag, if one is applied to the task.
For more information, refer to Using constraints. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Finish flag gap
| Description |
The duration between a task's finish date and the date of the task's finish constraint flag, if one is applied to the task.
For more information, refer to Using constraints. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | No |
Holding pin
| Description |
Whether a Holding Pin constraint has been assigned to a task.
For more information, refer to Using constraints. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Interruptible
| Description |
Whether a task has been defined as an 'interruptible task', ie one with at least two incoming links, one of which constrains the start of the task and one of which constrains the finish of the task, in which work can be interrupted at some point before the finish of the task, that has been marked as interruptible.
For more information, refer to Working with interruptible tasks. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Levelling delay
| Description |
The duration by which a task has been delayed as a result of resource levelling.
For more information, refer to Resource levelling. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | No |
Levelling priority
| Description |
A number between 0 and 100 where 0 is the lowest priority and the task is more likely to be affected by levelling, and 100 is the highest priority and the task is less likely to be affected by levelling.
For more information, refer to Setting the levelling priority of tasks. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Min alloc
| Description |
The minimum allocation below which you do not want a resource allocation to be stretched by resource levelling.
For more information, refer to Setting resource levelling options. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Min split
| Description |
The minimum duration after which you do not want a resource allocation to be split by resource levelling.
For more information, refer to Setting resource levelling options. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Must complete within
| Description |
Whether a task should be forced to complete within the time period, shift or work pattern in which it starts. This field enables you to model tasks that must be completed without a break.
For more information, refer to Constraining tasks to complete within a single time period, shift or work pattern. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Placement
| Description |
Whether a task is positioned to start as soon as possible (ASAP), as late as possible (ALAP) or forced to be critical (ASAP Force Critical).
For more information, refer to Factors that affect rescheduling. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Start constraint date
| Description |
The date of a task's start constraint flag, if one is applied to the task.
For more information, refer to Using constraints. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Start flag gap
| Description |
The duration between a task's start date and the date of the task's start constraint flag, if one is applied to the task.
For more information, refer to Using constraints. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | No |
Start on new day
| Description |
Whether a task should be forced to start at the beginning of a new day (according to the task's calendar) following
For more information, refer to Constraining tasks to start on a new day. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
Tasks may overlap
| Description |
Whether the tasks on a bar can overlap. You may want to allow the tasks on a bar to overlap in order to plan a unit network in which tasks can overlap on a single bar, rather than planning it over a number of bars, to save space.
For more information, refer to Specifying that tasks on a bar can overlap. |
| Parameters |
|
| Editable? | Yes |
