Setting resource levelling options
You can specify default levelling options for permanent resources so that whenever the resource is assigned its default levelling options are applied, or you can specify levelling options for each individual permanent resource allocation so that allocations of the same resource can have different resource levelling options.
To set default levelling options, you use the Permanent Resource Properties - Levelling dialog.
To specify levelling options for a permanent resource allocation, you use the Permanent Allocation Properties - Levelling dialog.
To specify levelling options for a permanent resource or a permanent allocation:
- Display the Resource Properties dialog for the permanent resource or resource allocation.
- Click the Levelling button.
- Use the Can be delayed, Can be split and Can be stretched check boxes to specify the way in which you want the resource or allocation to be affected by resource levelling.
Even if you clear the Can be delayed check box to prevent the start date of an allocation from being delayed, the finish date of the allocation can be changed if you select the Can be stretched check box. - If you are editing the levelling options of a permanent allocation, enter the minimum duration after which the allocation can be split in the Minimum levelling split field and enter the minimum allocation below which you do not want the resource allocation to be stretched in the Minimum allocation field.
- Close the Resource Properties dialogs when you have finished.
