Customising the Ribbon

To add a command to the Ribbon:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears. The large field on the left - the Command list - lists the various commands that can be added to the Ribbon, while the large field on the right - the Tab/group list - displays a hierarchical list of the tabs, groups and commands that are currently included on the Ribbon tab that is currently selected in the Customise the Ribbon field.
2. Locate the command that you want to add to the Ribbon by selecting the appropriate category in the Choose commands from field and selecting the command in the Command list that appears directly underneath it. If you know the name of the command that you want to find, click in the field and enter the initial letter of the command to make the list scroll to those commands that begin with that letter.
3. Locate the Ribbon tab and group to which you want to add the command using the Customise the Ribbon field and the Tab/group list that appears directly underneath it.
4. In the Tab/group list, select the command below which you want to add the new command.
5. Click Add.

To add a group to a Ribbon tab:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Locate the Ribbon tab to which you want to add the group using the Customise the Ribbon field and the Tab/group list that appears directly underneath it.
3. In the Tab/group list, select the tab to which you want to add the new group.
4. Click New Group. A new group is added to the end of the tab. You can then select the tab group, click Modify to rename it, and add commands from the Command list to the group.

To add a tab to the Ribbon:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Select the type of Ribbon tab that you want to add in the Customise the Ribbon field: select Main tabs if you want to add a tab that is displayed all the time, or select Tool tabs if you want to add a tab that is only displayed when you are carrying out a specific task.
3. Click New Tab. A new tab is added to the end of the list, containing a new tab group. You can then select the tab and its tab group, click Modify to rename them, and add commands from the Command list to the tab.

To remove a tab, group or command from the Ribbon:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Locate the Ribbon tab, group or command that you want to delete using the Customise the Ribbon field and the Tab/group list that appears directly underneath it.
3. In the Tab/group list, select the tab, group or command that you want to remove.
4. Click Remove.

To change the position of a tab, group or command in the Ribbon:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Locate the Ribbon tab, group or command that you want to move using the Customise the Ribbon field and the Tab/group list that appears directly underneath it.
3. In the Tab/group list, select the tab, group or command that you want to move.
4. Click to move the selected tab, group or command up one position in the list - moving it one position to the left on the Ribbon - or click to move it down one position - moving it one position to the right on the Ribbon.

To change the name of a Ribbon tab or group:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Locate the Ribbon tab or group that you want to rename using the Customise the Ribbon field and the Tab/group list that appears directly underneath it.
3. In the Tab/group list, select the tab or group that you want to rename.
4. Click Modify. The Rename dialog appears.
5. Enter a new name to apply to the tab or group in the Display name field and click OK.

To change the name, description or icon of a macro command that you have added to the Ribbon:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Locate the macro command that you want to modify using the Customise the Ribbon field and the Tab/group list that appears directly underneath it.
3. Click Modify. A dialog in which you can change the name, description and icon of the macro command appears.
4. Enter a new name and description to apply to the macro command in the Display name field, select a different icon if required and click OK.

To export customisation settings to an XML file:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Click Import/Export and select Export all customisations. The Save As dialog appears.
3. Select a folder in which to save the XML file and enter a name in the File name field, then click Save. Your customisation settings are saved to the XML file, which you can then import into Asta Powerproject on another computer.

To import customisation settings from an XML file:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Click Import/Export and select Import customisation file. The Open dialog appears.
3. Select the XML file that you want to import and click Open. The customisation settings in the selected file are applied to the Ribbon, the Quick Access toolbar and the Object Edit toolbar.

To reset the Ribbon, Quick Access toolbar and Object Edit toolbar to their default state:

1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customise. The Ribbon tab of the Ribbon Customisation dialog appears.
2. Click Reset. Any changes that you have made to the Ribbon, the Quick Access toolbar and the Object Edit toolbar are undone.
