Introduction to the Ribbon
The commands that you use while working on a project are located on a 'Ribbon'. The Ribbon is designed to provide fast access to the commands that you need as you work with your projects. The commands are organised in logical groups, which are collected together under tabs. Each tab relates to a type of activity, such as displaying different items in a view or working with allocations.
The Ribbon's Home tab is illustrated below:
Click the Ribbon tabs to move between them and access the commands that they contain.
The File tab is slightly different to the other Ribbon tabs: click this to display the Backstage view, which contains the commands that you use to do things to a project, rather than within a project.
If you use Asta Powerproject 4D, a 4D tab appears on the Ribbon. Refer to the Asta Powerproject 4D Help for more information.
Launching dialogs from the Ribbon
Some groups on the Ribbon include a control in the bottom right corner which you can use to launch a dialog, to access more options than are available on the Ribbon itself. For example, the Progress group on the Home tab includes one of these dialog launchers:
Click the control in the Progress group to launch the Enter Progress dialog, which offers you more progress recording options than are available on the Ribbon.
