Specifying which codes to apply to bars and tasks by default

You can use the project view to specify which codes to apply to bars and tasks by default. Specifying default codes saves you from having to assign codes to many bars and tasks manually after you have created them.

To specify the default code library entries to apply to new tasks:

  1. Locate the code library entries you want to apply to new bars or tasks by default in the project view.
  2. Right-click a code library entry and select Bar Default from the menu that appears to assign that entry to new bars, or select Task Default from the menu that appears to assign that entry to new tasks. Depending on the way in which each code library has been set up, you may be able to select more than one default entry from each code library.

To remove the default setting from a code library entry, right-click the entry and select Bar Default or Task Default again to remove the default setting from it.

You can also specify which code library entries to apply to new bars and tasks by default by selecting them in the Default Library fields on the Bar and Task tabs of the Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog.
