Adding text boxes
You can add text boxes to your borders to create headings and other explanatory information. Powerdraw offers you a wide range of formatting options that enable you to create varied, attractive borders. You can also insert information from an Asta Powerproject or Asta Easyplan project to your borders by adding fields to text boxes. These fields act like fields in a database: you insert the fields you want into your borders, and they display the information relating to the individual projects you print out using the borders.
You use the button on the toolbar to add text
boxes to a border.
To add a text box:
- Click
. The cursor turns into a text insertion tool. You can use the text insertion tool to create text boxes in either of two ways:
- To create a text box that sizes itself automatically to the text that you initially enter into it, click on the border in the position at which you want to enter text, type your text and press Enter.
- To create a text box of a specific size into which you can then enter text, click and drag to create a text box of the required size, then start typing to enter text into the text box. You can create text boxes that are larger than the text that they contain, which gives you more freedom when it comes to designing attractive borders.
- Type the text you want. You can create line breaks by pressing Enter, just as you would in a word processor. If you mistype the text, you can use the Backspace and Delete keys to edit the text, just as you would in a word processor.
- Click away from the text box to deselect it.
You can move the text box by selecting it and dragging it across the border.
You can edit the text within the text box by selecting it, typing different text and removing existing text using the Backspace and Delete keys.
The text box is given the default colour and line style. You can change these if you wish.
