Viewing fields as they will be printed
When you insert fields into a border, they are displayed as the field name inside angled brackets, for example <PROJ-START>. You may find it easier to work on your borders if the fields display sample information rather than their names, as this helps you to visualise how the border will look when it is printed. For example, the <PROJ-START> field will be replaced with a date. You can toggle between displaying field names and sample information.
To toggle between displaying field names and sample information, select the Toggle Field Values command from the View menu.
You can customise the sample information that is displayed in place of the field names if you wish. The sample information is specified in the PP.TKN file, located in the directory in which Asta Powerproject or Asta Easyplan is installed.
To customise the sample information:
- Open PP.TKN using a text editor, for example, Notepad.
The file lists all the fields available in Powerdraw and the sample information that will appear in place of each field. The first item in each line is the field name and the second item is the sample information. The two items are separated by a comma:
CHART-REV-DATE,29/Mar/2012
CHART-MANAGER,Hugo Young
CHART-REVISION,99
CHART-START,01/Jan/2019 - Edit the sample information to make it more relevant
to your projects as required.
Do not change the field names or remove the comma from between the field names and the sample information. - Save your changes and exit the text editor.
You must restart Powerdraw for the customised sample information to be applied.
