Changing a text box's attributes
You use Text tab of the Details dialog to format the currently-selected
text box(s) and change the way they appear in a border. The tabs available
on the Details dialog depend on
the items that are selected when you display the dialog. For example,
if you choose to edit the attributes of a text box and a shape, the dialog
contains two tabs: Text and Shape. To access the Details dialog, select the item or items you want to maintain then select the Details command from the Edit menu, or click .

Select the category into which you want to place the selected text box in the Categories field.
You can place text boxes and other items into categories and turn the categories on and off in order to show or hide the items within the categories.

- Select the Print on every page radio button to make the selected text box print on all pages of a printout, in cases where a printout exceeds a single page.
- Select the Print on the following only radio button, then select the page or pages on which you want the selected text box to print to make the selected text box print on specific pages, in cases where a printout exceeds a single page.
You may find this feature useful if you want to create a border that displays different items on certain pages. For example, you can create borders that:
- Display items on the first page only - useful for an introduction.
- Display items on the last page only - useful for a conclusion.
- Display items on all pages but the first and last pages.
- Display different information on odd and even pages - useful if you want to print the border in duplex and want information to be mirrored on odd and even pages.

Select the Transparent check box. Any items overlapped by the text box will become visible.

Select the Outline check box. The outline of the text box will become visible.

Select the appropriate formatting options using the following fields:
- Foreground.
- Background.
- Outline.
- Outline style.

Click Change Font. You see the Font dialog, in which you can change the font, size and style of the selected text box.

If the selected text box contains one or more fields, you can make them reference and display baseline data rather than project data. Note that this applies only if you are using Powerdraw to design borders for use with Asta Powerproject; borders will not reference and display baseline data when used in Asta Easyplan.
To make fields reference baseline data:
- Select the Baseline Referenced check box.
- Select the appropriate radio button to specify the baseline you want the fields to reference. If you select the Specific radio button, enter the number of the baseline you want in the adjacent field, as follows:
- Enter 1 to make fields reference the first baseline that was created, 2 to reference the second baseline, 3 to reference the third, and so on.
- Enter 999 to make fields reference whichever baseline is marked as the current baseline.
- Enter 1000 to make fields reference a project baseline - useful if you have associated different baselines with individual projects in Asta Powerproject. If you reference a project baseline and the view you are printing using the border in Asta Powerproject contains more than one project, the field references the project baseline of the first project in the view.
The baseline you reference must be open when you load the border into Asta Powerproject for the text box to reference and display its information.

The large scrollable field displays the current text of the selected text box. You can change the text by entering into the field. If more than one text box is currently selected, the field is empty and any text you enter into it will replace the text in all selected text boxes.

- Select the language in which you want to enter a translation in the Text field. The large scrollable field is cleared.
- Enter the translation of the text into the large scrollable field.

- Specify a margin to apply between the left and right edges of the text box and the text in the Horizontal field.
- Specify a margin to apply between the top and bottom edges of the text box and the text in the Vertical field.

Select the Word-wrap check box if you want the text inside the text box to wrap around to the next line automatically if the text is too long to be displayed on a single line within the text box, or clear the check box if you do not want to apply word-wrapping. If you do not apply word-wrapping to a text box, the text may be truncated if it is too long for the bounds of the text box. This is most likely to happen when you display the contents of one or more field in a text box, as the field contents can vary in length.
If you apply word-wrapping to the text box, use the Prefer to increase width and Prefer to increase height radio buttons to specify whether the text box should expand horizontally or vertically to fit the text that it contains if the text will not fit within the current bounds of the text box.
Click OK to confirm your changes and close the Details dialog.
