Viewing and editing project details
You use the Project Details page to view and edit high-level details of projects. You can also use this page to delete projects.
To access the Project Details page:
- Click Projects in the left pane. The Projects page appears.
- Click a project in the list.
The Project Details page also appears when you import a project for use as a master schedule.
To edit the details of a project:
- On the Project Details page, enter a descriptive name for the project in the Project Name field. This is the only mandatory field on this page: the other fields are optional.
- If the project relates to a contract, enter the number of the contract in the Contract Number field.
- Enter the project's sector, for example Commercial or Residential, in the Sector field.
- Enter the approximate financial value of the project in the Value field.
- Select the currency in which the value is calculated in the Currency field.
- Enter the dates on which the project will start and finish in the Start Date and Finish Date fields.
- Click the Use Project Start Date for Week Numbering toggle to start whiteboard week numbering on the project start date - as specified on this page - for this project's pull plans, or turn off the toggle to number weeks according to the ISO week date system.
- Enter the physical location at which the project will take place in the Location field. This could be a town, a city, or a full address.
- Enter the region in which the project will take place, for example North West or South East, in the Region field.
- Enter the postcode of the project location in the Postcode field.
- Click the Project Tags dropdown and select any project tags that are applicable. You can select any number of project tags.
Any tags that you select are added to the list of assigned tags beneath the Project Tags field. Click to the right of a project tag to unassign it.
If you delete a project, any 'child' data relating to the project - for example the project's pull plans and documents - are also deleted.
Before you delete a project, you must make sure that you no longer need to access the project or any of its associated data.
To delete a project:
- On the Project Details page, click Delete, at the top-right of the page. A popup appears, asking if you are sure that you want to delete the project.
- Click Yes to delete the project.
