Importing data exported from Asta Connect into Asta Powerproject

When you have exported data from Asta Connect into a JSON format file, you can import it into the original Asta Powerproject project, to update the project with progress information that has been captured using Asta Connect.

To import data exported from Asta Connect into Asta Powerproject:

In Asta Powerproject, open the 'master schedule' project. This is the project from which you originally exported data for use in Asta Connect.
When you import your exported data into Asta Powerproject, progress is applied to the corresponding tasks in the Asta Powerproject project using the current progress entry period. If you want to apply the progress using a different progress period, you need to set this as the progress entry period in the Asta Powerproject project before importing Asta Connect data.
On the Add-Ins tab of the Ribbon, in the Asta Connect group, click Import. The Open Asta Connect Import dialog appears.
Browse to the folder in which the JSON file you want to import is located, select the file, then click Open. The Asta Connect progress data is imported into the project and the tasks in the project are updated with the progress information that has been captured using Asta Connect.

Depending on the size of the file you are importing, the import may take some time.

Once the import is complete, you can reschedule and revise the project as required, using the latest progress data from Asta Connect.

Note the following points about importing Asta Connect data into Asta Powerproject:

If an Asta Powerproject user who does not have access rights to the entire project attempts to import data from Asta Connect that covers part of the project to which they do not have access, an 'Unable to carry out this operation, some of the objects are locked because another user is editing them' error appears.
if an Asta Powerproject user whose access rights do not allow them to enter or delete progress attempts to import data from Asta Connect, a 'Couldn't obtain lock' error appears.
