Viewing and editing build location group details

You use the Edit Build Location Group dialog to view and edit details of build location groups. As well as changing the name of a build location groups, you can use this dialog to restrict the build location group to a particular project. You can also use this dialog to delete build location groups.

To access the Edit Build Location Group dialog:

  1. Click Build Locations in the left pane, then click New Build Location, or click an existing build location in the list. The New Build Location or Edit Build Location dialog appears.
  2. Select a build location group in the Location Group field.
  3. Click Edit Build Location Group.

To edit the details of a build location group:

  1. On the Edit Build Location Group dialog, enter a descriptive name for the build location group in the Group Name field.
  2. If you want to restrict the build locations in this build location group to a particular project, select the project in the Restricted to Project field. Do not select a project in this field if you want the build locations in this group to be accessible by all projects.

    If the build location group is currently restricted to a particular project and you want to make its build locations available to all projects, select 'select' in the Restricted to Project field.
  3. Click Save to save any changes you have made to the build location group details. Your changes are saved and you are returned to the New Build Location or Edit Build Location dialog, where the build location group appears in the Location Group field.

Before you delete a build location group, you must make sure that you no longer need to use the build location group to categorise build locations: you cannot delete a build location group if it has been assigned to a build location.

To delete a build location group:

  1. On the Edit Build Location Group dialog, click Delete. A popup appears, asking if you are sure that you want to delete the build location group.
  2. Click Yes to delete the build location group.
