Use the default progress period... | Click this radio button if you create progress periods manually in your Asta Powerproject projects and you want the report date of the progress entry period to be updated each time you import information from Asta Site Progress. The imported progress will be shown to have taken place during the progress entry period. |
Create a new progress period... | Click this radio button if you want Asta Site Progress to create a new progress period automatically in your Asta Powerproject projects each time you import information from Asta Site Progress. The imported progress will be shown to have taken place during the newly-created progress period. |
Imported progress requires approval |
Select this check box to specify that all progress imported from Asta Site Progress must be approved before it is applied to your Asta Powerproject project(s), or clear the check box to specify that progress can be imported and applied without approval.
If you specify that progress must be approved, details of progress that has been recorded using Asta Site Progress appears in the Site Progress Approve Progress dialog when you import information that has been updated remotely. You can approve or reject each item of progress individually. If you do not agree with any of the information that a Mobile user has entered or updated, you can overwrite this information before applying it to the project(s).
|
Keep photo attachments in the cloud |
Select this check box to specify that all photographs that have been taken by Mobile users should be stored in the Cloud, or clear the check box to specify that they should be downloaded to whichever computer is importing progress information that has been recorded remotely.
Storing photographs in the Cloud rather than on the computer that carries out the import means that they are available to view on any computer that has access to the project, provided that the computer has access to the Internet.

Export using resource allocations rather than user codes |
Select this check box to export information to Asta Site Progress based on a user's permanent resource allocations in your Asta Powerproject projects, or clear the check box to export information on whichever tasks the user's entry in a particular code library is assigned to, or using the 'ASP_Users' code library.
If you select this check box, you must associate each Mobile user with the appropriate permanent resource in your Asta Powerproject project(s), using the Site Progress user field on the Details tab of the Permanent Resource Properties dialog.
If you clear this check box, you must associate each Mobile user with the appropriate code library entry in a particular code library in your Asta Powerproject project(s), using the Site Progress user field on the Code Library Entry Properties dialog. Alternatively, you can choose to associate Mobile users with their tasks using the 'ASP_Users' code library, which contains a code library entry with each user's name.

Export tasks... days beyond progress date |
When you export information to Asta Site Progress, all uncompleted tasks that should be in progress or complete on or before the progress date that is specified at the time of export are included. If you enter a number other than zero into this field, all uncompleted tasks that should be in progress or complete for a time after the progress date are also exported. For example, if you enter 7 in this field, all uncompleted tasks that should be in progress or complete up to seven days beyond the progress date are also exported. This enables Mobile users to report progress on tasks that are carried out ahead of schedule.
Consider the frequency with which you export information to Asta Site Progress when determining the number to enter here. For example, if you export information every week, entering 7 in this field would be sensible as information on the coming week's tasks would be exported. Entering 14 in this field would also be sensible if you export information every week: doing so would export information on the following two weeks' tasks, enabling users to record progress on tasks that have started two weeks earlier than planned. |
Overall percent complete |
Click this radio button to specify that progress that has been recorded using Asta Site Progress should be applied to your Asta Powerproject projects as overall percent complete progress.
The measure of progress that you specify here should correspond to that used in your Asta Powerproject projects. Refer to the Asta Powerproject Help for descriptions of each progress method. |
Duration percent complete |
Click this radio button to specify that progress that has been recorded using Asta Site Progress should be applied to your Asta Powerproject projects as duration percent complete progress.
The measure of progress that you specify here should correspond to that used in your Asta Powerproject projects. Refer to the Asta Powerproject Help for descriptions of each progress method. |
Use task quantities for progress if applicable |
Select this check box if you use task-based work to record progress on some or all of your tasks and you want to enable Mobile users to record progress by recording quantities. If a task has no quantities recorded against it, Mobile users record progress against it in the usual way - as a percentage complete.
If you do not use task-based work to record progress, clear this check box. |
Progress via duration remaining |
Select this check box if you want Mobile users to record progress by entering a duration remaining value for each task, or clear the check box if you want them to record progress by recording a percentage complete for each task.
If you select this check box, when you apply progress to the project, progress for each task is filled up to the report date of the progress period and the remaining duration of each task is updated to the amount recorded by the Mobile user. |
Display remaining duration |
Select this check box to export the remaining duration of tasks to Asta Site Progress, or clear the check box to omit this information from the export.
The remaining duration of tasks is always exported if you have selected the Progress via duration remaining check box.
The following items of information are always exported: actual finish; actual start; planned finish; planned start; planned percent complete. Note that the planned finish, planned start and planned percent complete information is taken from the current baseline, if one exists; otherwise, they are taken from the live data. |
Allow remaining duration to be edited |
If you export the remaining duration of tasks to Asta Site Progress, select this check box to enable Mobile users to edit this information, or clear the check box to prevent them from doing so.
Mobile users can always edit the remaining duration of tasks if you have selected the Progress via duration remaining check box. |
Allow actual duration to be edited |
Select this check box to enable Mobile users to record the actual duration of tasks that has been completed, as an alternative to recording the percentage of tasks that has been completed, or clear the check box to enable Mobile users to record the percentage complete only.
Mobile users can always record the actual duration of tasks if you have selected the Progress via duration remaining check box. |
Allow actual dates to be edited |
Select this check box to enable Mobile users to edit the actual start and actual finish dates of tasks, or clear the check box to prevent them from doing so.
Mobile users can always edit the actual start and actual finish dates of tasks if you have selected the Progress via duration remaining check box. |
Display date and time |
Select this check box to display times as well as dates in Asta Site Progress, or clear the check box to display dates without times.
Displaying times as well as dates may be useful if your projects are planned in great detail and the times of the start and finish of tasks are important; if your tasks are planned in less detail - with tasks starting and finishing at the start and end of days - displaying times will be less useful. |
Show forecast dates |
Select this check box to enable Mobile users to specify a forecast start date for tasks, or clear the check box to prevent them from doing so.
If you enable Mobile users to specify a forecast start date, they can specify the date on which they think tasks will start. If a Mobile user specifies a forecast start date for a task, a Start On Or After constraint flag is added to the task once progress data has been imported back into the project, with the flag situated on the specified date. |
Allow new tasks to be created |
Select this check box to enable Mobile users to create new tasks, or clear the check box to prevent them from doing so.
If you enable Mobile users to create new tasks, each new task is created in the appropriate chart or summary group once progress data has been imported back into the project, with the Mobile user that created it assigned to the task- either the user's permanent resource or the user's code is assigned to the task, depending on the way in which you associate Mobile users with their tasks. |
Use live project for planned dates/progress |
Select this check box to specify that the following fields should display data from the live project rather than from the current baseline in Asta Site Progress:
Clear this check box to specify that the above fields should display data from the current baseline, if a baseline is available.
You might want to display live data rather than baseline data if your current baseline does not reflect the current status of your project accurately. For example, if you baseline a project at Contract stage and maintain this as a record of the Contract stage without updating it regularly, displaying live data in Asta Site Progress gives a better idea of when tasks are planned to start and finish; if you update your current baseline regularly, displaying planned data from the baseline may make more sense. |
Off | Click this radio button to specify that tasks and build stages should not be colour-coded in Asta Site Progress to indicate whether or not they are behind schedule. |
Use live project |
Click this radio button to specify that tasks and build stages should be colour-coded in Asta Site Progress to indicate whether or not they are behind schedule according to the report date in the live data.
Use the colour selectors below to choose the colours with which to indicate tasks and build stages that are not due, due and overdue. |
Use current baseline |
Click this radio button to specify that tasks and build stages should be colour-coded in Asta Site Progress to indicate whether or not they are behind schedule according to their percentage progress complete in the current baseline.
Use the colour selectors below to choose the colours with which to indicate tasks and build stages that are not due, due and overdue. |
Not due | If you choose to colour-code tasks and build stages, select the colour with which to indicate tasks and build stages that are not yet due - ie those that start after the report date of the progress period that you specify when exporting tasks. Working on such tasks or build stages would be working ahead of schedule. |
Due | If you choose to colour-code tasks and build stages, select the colour with which to indicate tasks and build stages that are now due - ie those that finish precisely on the report date of the progress period that you specify when exporting tasks. Working on such tasks or build stages would be working on schedule. |
Overdue | If you choose to colour-code tasks and build stages, select the colour with which to indicate tasks and build stages that are overdue - ie those that should have finished before the report date of the progress period that you specify when exporting tasks. Working on such tasks or build stages would be working behind schedule. |

Build stages code library name |
Enter the name of the code library in which the codes that relate to different build stages are stored in your Asta Powerproject project(s). The name of each build stage as it appears in a ticksheet is taken from the appropriate code library entry, not from the corresponding task in the Asta Powerproject project(s).
|
Display short code names | Select this check box to specify that build stages should be named in ticksheets using the short name of their code library entry, or clear the check box to name build stages using the full name of the code library entry. You may like to use short names to save space on the Ticksheet Tasks screen. |
Auto-complete earlier build stages... | Select this check box to specify that if a build stage is marked as complete in a ticksheet, all earlier build stages should be marked automatically as complete, or clear this check box to enable Mobile users to mark build stages as complete without this affecting any other build stages. |
Display previous notes | Select this check box to specify that Mobile users can see notes that they have recorded previously against items when updating information using Asta Site Progress, or clear this check box to specify that Mobile users can see only the notes they have entered in the current session. |
Add | Click this button to create a new entry in a predefined list of note titles from which Mobile users can choose when entering notes. For example, to enable Mobile users to enter notes relating to site access, enter a note title called 'Access'. |
Remove | Select a predefined note title then click this radio button to remove the selected predefined note title, meaning that Mobile users will no longer be able to record notes of this type. |
