Working with data sources
You use the Datasources page to manage an Enterprise server's data sources. Each data source in Server Admin is linked to a Microsoft SQL Server database
To access the Datasources page, either.
- In the sidebar, click the Enterprise server whose data sources you want to view, then click Datasources.
- On the Servers page, click Datasources underneath the Enterprise server whose datasources you want to view.
The Datasources page displays a 'card' for each data source, displaying details of the corresponding SQL Server database.

To create a new data source, click Create New.

To edit the details of a data source, click the Actions dropdown underneath the data source whose details you want to view, then click Edit.

To unregister a data source so that it is no longer available to users in Asta Powerproject Enterprise, click the Actions dropdown underneath the data source, then click Unregister.

To reregister a data source that has previously been unregistered, making it available again to users in Asta Powerproject Enterprise, click Reregister.

To specify that projects and their baselines should be premounted when the Enterprise server on which a data source is located is started, click the Actions dropdown underneath the data source, then click Pre-Mount.

You can create three types of custom definition in Server Admin for use in Asta Powerproject projects on a server-mounted data source:
- User-defined fields (UDFs).
- User-defined enumerators (UDEs).
- User-defined tables (UDTs).
All three types of custom definition enable you to record information relating to Asta Powerproject objects in your own fields, accessible via the Properties dialogs in Asta Powerproject.
To manage a data source's custom definitions, click UDFs, UDEs or UDTs underneath the data source.
