Premounting projects and baselines
You use the Pre-Mount Settings page to specify the projects that you want to mount each time the Enterprise server on which a data source is located starts. This page lists all projects in the data source that are currently premounted.
To access the Pre-Mount Settings page, either:
- In the sidebar, click a data source, then click Pre-Mount.
- On the Datasources page, click the Actions dropdown underneath a data source, then click Pre-Mount.
A project is normally mounted when it is opened, and dismounted when all users have finished working with it. It can take some time to mount projects. If particular projects will be opened and closed frequently, you can speed up access times by premounting them each time the Enterprise server(s) start. Premounting a project also prevents it from being dismounted automatically when all users have finished working with it.
For each project that you premount, you can specify whether its baselines are premounted at the same time. This speeds up access times for the baselines, which is useful if they will be opened and closed frequently. If a project's baselines are premounted at the same time as the project itself, the Pre-Mount Type column displays Project and Baselines; if only the project is premounted, it displays Project Only.
Baselines that are not marked as "active" in the Baseline/What If Manager dialog in Asta Powerproject are excluded from being premounted. If you have a large number of baselines, you can improve the performance of the system by specifying that old baselines are not active, which reduces the number of baselines that are premounted.

To specify that a project should be premounted when the data source's Enterprise server starts:
- Click Create New. The Set Datasource Pre-Mount page appears.
- The Project field displays a drop-down list of all of the data source's projects. Select the project that you want to be premounted.
- Specify whether you want to premount the project only, or the project and its baselines, in the Pre-Mount type field.
- Click Save. You return to the Pre-Mount Settings page. The next time the Enterprise server starts, the selected project - and its baselines, if selected - will be premounted.

To change the way in which a project is premounted:
- Click the project whose premount settings you want to edit. The Set Datasource Pre-Mount page appears.
- Specify whether you want to premount the project only, or the project and its baselines, in the Pre-Mount type field.
- Click Save. You return to the Pre-Mount Settings page. The next time the Enterprise server starts, the selected project - and its baselines, if selected - will be premounted.

To prevent a project - and its baselines - from being premounted:
- Click Delete to the right of the project that you no longer want to premount. A popup appears, asking you to confirm whether you want to delete the premount setting.
- Click OK to continue, or click Cancel to cancel the deletion. You return to the Pre-Mount Settings page and unless you have cancelled the deletion, the project no longer appears in the list.
