Setting a password for Server Admin

You use the Set Password dialog to set a password to prevent unauthorised users from accessing the Server Admin utility. If you set a password, you are prompted to enter the password each time you enter Server Admin. You can also use the Set Password dialog to change your password. It is good practice to change your password periodically.

To access the Set Password dialog, select the Set Password command from the File menu.

To set a password for Server Admin:

  1. If you are changing an existing password, enter your current password in the Enter current password field. If you are setting a password for the first time, do not enter anything in this field.
  2. Enter the password that you want to set in the New Password field.
  3. Retype the new password in the Confirm field.
  4. Click OK to confirm your changes and close the Set Password dialog.
