Premounting projects and baselines
You use the Pre-Mount Settings dialog to specify the projects that you want to mount each time the Enterprise server(s) start. The dialog lists all projects that are currently premounted.
To access the Pre-Mount Settings dialog, select the Pre-Mount Settings command from the Server menu.
A project is normally mounted when it is opened, and dismounted when all users have finished working with it. It can take some time to mount projects. If particular projects will be opened and closed frequently, you can speed up access times by premounting them each time the Enterprise server(s) start. Premounting a project also prevents it from being dismounted automatically when all users have finished working with it.
For each project that you premount, you can specify whether its baselines are premounted at the same time. This speeds up access times for the baselines, which is useful if they will be opened and closed frequently. If a project's baselines are premounted at the same time as the project itself, the Pre-Mount Type column displays Project and Baselines; if only the project is premounted, it displays Project Only.
Baselines that are not marked as "active" in the Baseline/What If Manager dialog in Asta Powerproject are excluded from being premounted. If you have a large number of baselines, you can improve the performance of the system by specifying that old baselines are not active, which reduces the number of baselines that are premounted.
If you want to premount two projects in different data sources that share the same project ID, you must not enter their details into the Pre-Mount Settings dialog during the same dialog session; if you do this, only one of the projects that shares the project ID will be premounted. In this situation, you must access the Pre-Mount Settings dialog, specify one of the projects and close the dialog, then re-enter the dialog and specify the second project.
