Specifying the projects you want to premount

You use the Add Pre-Mount Project dialog to specify the projects that are mounted each time the Enterprise server(s) start, and whether their baselines are mounted at the same time. Premounting a project's baselines at the same time as the project speeds up access times for the baselines, which is useful if they will be opened and closed frequently.

To access the Add Pre-Mount Project dialog, click Add, or select a project and click Edit, in the Pre-Mount Settings dialog.

Baselines that are not marked as "active" in the Baseline/What If Manager dialog in Asta Powerproject are excluded from being premounted. If you have a large number of baselines, you can improve the performance of the system by specifying that old baselines are not active, which reduces the number of baselines that are premounted.

To specify the way in which a project is premounted:

  1. Specify whether you want to premount the project only, or the project and its baselines, in the Pre-Mount type field.
  2. Select the data source in which the project is located in the Datasource field.
  3. Enter the ID of the project you want to premount in the Project ID field. If you do not know the ID of the project you want to premount, enter projects at the Enterprise server command prompt. A list of projects, together with their IDs, is displayed.
  4. Click OK to return to the Pre-Mount Settings dialog.
