Premounting projects and baselines manually

It can take some time to mount projects. If a project will be opened and closed frequently, you can speed up access times by mounting it explicitly using the mount command once you have started the Enterprise server(s). This prevents the project from being dismounted automatically when all users have finished working with it.

To premount a project, enter mount <data source ID>:<project ID> at the command prompt, where <data source ID> is the ID of the data source on which the project is located and <project ID> is the ID of the project. The project is premounted, making subsequent access quicker.

Baselines are projects too. If a project's baselines will be opened and closed frequently, you can premount them at the same time as you premount a project using the mount with baselines command.

To premount a project and all its baselines, enter mount with baselines <data source ID>:<project ID> at the command prompt, where <data source ID> is the ID of the data source on which the project is located and <project ID> is the ID of the project. The project and all its baselines are premounted, making subsequent access quicker.

To premount a project and one or more specific baselines, enter mount with baselines <data source ID>:<project ID>[,<baseline data source ID>:<baseline project ID>] at the command prompt, where <baseline data source ID> is the ID of the data source on which the project baseline is located and <baseline project ID> is the ID of the baseline project. You can mount more than one baseline at a time by adding other baselines in a comma-separated list.

If projects will be opened and closed frequently each time an Enterprise server is started, you can premount them automatically.

Baselines that are not marked as "active" in the Baseline/What If Manager dialog in Asta Powerproject are excluded from being premounted. If you have a large number of baselines, you can improve the performance of the system by specifying that old baselines are not active, which reduces the number of baselines that are premounted.
