Specifying the appearance of a 3D model

You can specify the appearance of 3D models using a number of commands on the menu that appears when you right-click in the IFC Model pane:

  • To display the spaces in a 3D model - ie the internal volumes that are bounded by walls, floors, ceilings and other structures - right-click the IFC Model pane and select Reveal Spaces. To revert to a display in which spaces are not shown, right-click the IFC Model pane and select Reveal Spaces again.
  • To configure the ambient shading of a 3D model, right-click the IFC Model pane, select Ambient Shading, then select the level of shading to apply.

These appearance options affect the display of 3D models in both the IFC Model pane and the IFC Comparison Model pane.
