Copying split and merge data to a different revision of a 3D model

The data relating to 3D object splitting and merging is specific to each revision of a 3D model. This means that if you split or merge 3D objects in one revision of a 3D model then start working with a more up-to-date revision of the model, you need to copy the 3D object splitting and merging data to the new revision of the model. If you fail to do this, any 3D objects that you have split or merged in one revision of the 3D model will appear in their original - unsplit or unmerged - states in the new revision.

To copy 3D object splitting and merging data to a new revision of a 3D model:

  1. Open the revision of the 3D model that currently contains the 3D object splitting and merging data in Asta Powerproject 4D.
  2. Right-click the IFC Model pane and select Copy Split Data from the menu that appears. The Copy Split Data dialog appears.
  3. Select the revision of the 3D model to which you want to copy the 3D object splitting and merging data in the Copy active model split data to revision field.
  4. Click OK to close the Copy Split Data dialog and copy the 3D object splitting and merging data to the specified revision.

As IFC group models do not have specific revisions, the Copy Split Data menu command is unavailable if the IFC Model pane is currently displaying an IFC group model. If you want to copy split and merge data to new revisions of the 3D models that make up an IFC group model, you must open the 3D models individually then copy the split and merge data within the individual 3D models.
