Print Profile Properties dialog - Scaling tab
You use the Scaling tab of the Print dialog to specify a horizontal and vertical scale for the printed output, should you want to override the default horizontal and vertical scale settings when a particular print profile is used. Specifying a scale may be useful if you want to produce a printout with precise layout settings. However, in most circumstances you will obtain the optimum printout with a sensible aspect ratio by using the settings defined in the Format Bar Chart dialog. You also use this tab to specify the way in which you want a border file to surround the output, and to specify the way in which the output is paginated when a particular print profile is used.
How to access the Print Profile Properties dialog
To access the Print Profile Properties dialog, right-click a print profile in Library Explorer and select Properties.
Explanation of the fields and buttons on the dialog

| Override horizontal (datezone) scale |
Click the Automatic radio button to override the horizontal scale settings with a default horizontal scale in your printout.
Alternatively, click the Manual radio button, then click Scale to specify your own horizontal scale settings for the printout, using the Date Zone Scale dialog. Using this dialog, you can create up to three separate date zone sections and specify a different scale for each.
To use the horizontal scale settings as defined in the date zone in the current view, click the Off radio button.

Click the Manual radio button, then click Scale to specify your own vertical scale settings for the printout, using the Chart Scale dialog.
To use the vertical scale settings as defined in the current view, click the Off radio button.

| Fit border around output |
Click this radio button to draw the border around the whole output, which is printed continuously across the appropriate number of pages. Fit the pages together to read across and down the full length of the output. This is 'tiled' output.

| One border per page |
Click this radio button to split the output into page-sized sections, with the border drawn around each page. This means that each page of output is comprehensive and you do not have to fit all the pages together to make sense of them. This is 'paginated' output.

| Horizontal pagination - True size |
Click this radio button to print the view using its current horizontal size, as determined by the chart scale, or at a specific scale, for example x2 or x5.

| Horizontal pagination - Horizontal scaling |
Select this check box if you want to specify a horizontal scaling factor with which to print the output, or clear the check box to adjust the horizontal scaling automatically to match the selected vertical scaling factor.
If you choose to specify your own scaling factor, enter it in the field to the right. For example, enter 2 to print the output at double its normal horizontal size. |
| Horizontal pagination - Expand to fill space | Select this check box to expand the chart and date zone horizontally up to the edge of the border, or clear the check box to print them without expanding them to fill the border. |

Click this radio button to scale the view horizontally to fit exactly on the number of pages that you specify in the field to the right.

Click this radio button to print the view using its current vertical size, as determined by the chart scale, or at a specific scale, for example x2 or x5.

| Vertical pagination - Vertical scaling | Enter your own scaling factor at which to print the view. For example, enter 2 to print the output at double its normal vertical size. |
| Vertical pagination - Use defined page breaks |
Select this check box to incorporate any page breaks that have been entered into the bar chart in your printout, or clear the check box to ignore them when printing.
Note that page breaks only apply when you print a view with a border around each page of the printout; if you fit a single border around the entire printout, page breaks are ignored.

Click this radio button to print a specific number of lines on each page of the printout. Specify the number of lines in the field to the right.
Note that 'lines' in this context refers to bars on which tasks from the live data are located: baseline bars and allocation bars are not counted in the number of lines that you specify here. |

Click this radio button to scale the view vertically so that it fits on no more than the number of pages that you specify in the field to the right.

| Reset to Default | Click this button to reset the values on this tab back to their default settings. Note that this button also resets the settings on the Date Zone Scale dialog and the Chart Scale dialog. |

If you are printing an Powerdraw border around the output, specify whether you want to print the border around the entire output or around each individual page of the output in the Scaling type group.

- Specify the way in which you want the output to fit onto the pages horizontally in the Horizontal pagination group.
- Specify the way in which you want the output to fit onto the pages vertically in the Vertical pagination group.
- Select the Use defined page breaks check box to incorporate page breaks in a printout, or clear the check box to print without respecting any page breaks.
- You can also specify that a printout should include a specific number of lines (bars) per page if required. To do this, click the Fit lines per page radio button and specify the number of lines you want to print on each page. Note that 'lines' in this context refers to bars on which tasks from the live data are located: baseline bars and allocation bars are not counted in the number of lines that you specify here.
