Formatting the text and background of a histogram
You can configure the way in which in which aspects of the histograms currently on view are displayed, including the text and background colour used in the histograms. You can also display calendar exceptions, for example holidays and overtime, in the histogram pane.
To format the text and background of a histogram:
- Click
on the Histogram toolbar, or right-click the histogram pane and select Format Histogram. The Format Histogram dialog appears.
- Click the View tab.
- Use the options on this tab to configure the way in which the histograms that are currently open are displayed, as described below.

Select the Use spreadsheet default check box if you want to use the default spreadsheet font in the histogram, or clear the check box and specify a different font and colour if you want to use a different font. For example, you may want to use a narrower or smaller font in the histogram.

- You can use a different font in the data grid if required. Select the Use same font as above check box if you want to use the same font in the data grid as is used in the rest of the histogram, or clear the check box and specify a different font and colour if you want to use a different font.
- Specify the character(s) you want to use to separate values in the data grid in the Item separator field. For example, you might want to use a comma or a dash.
- Specify the way in which you want to justify the text in the data grid cells by selecting one of the Left, Centre or Right radio buttons.

Select a background colour in the Default background colour field.
You can override the default background colour for individual histogram rows by specifying a different background colour on the Row tab of this dialog.

Select the Extend display of exceptions from bar chart calendar check box to to display calendar exceptions, for example holidays and overtime, in the histogram pane, or clear the check box to omit exceptions from the histogram.
