Managing a project's baselines
You use the Manage Baseline Snapshots dialog to view details of the baselines that have been created of a project's pull plans. You can specify whether individual baselines are available to be displayed on the whiteboard, and delete any baselines that you no longer need.
By default, the dialog displays every baseline that has been taken, of all of the project's pull plans. You can filter the baselines that appear in the dialog, to display only those that were taken within a specific date range, and only those that relate to a specific pull plan.
To access the Manage Baseline Snapshots dialog:
- Click Projects in the left pane. The Projects page appears.
- Click a project in the list. The Project Details page appears.
- Click Settings at the top of the page. The Project Settings page appears.
- Click Manage Baseline Snapshots.
To filter the baselines that appear in the dialog, which can be useful if you have created a large number of baselines of a project:
- Specify a date in the Timestamp Date Range - Min field to display only baselines that were created on or after a specific date.
- Specify a date in the Timestamp Date Range - Max field to display only baselines that were created on or before a specific date.
- Select a pull plan in the Pull Plan Filter field to display only baselines that relate to a specific pull plan.
The baseline list is filtered instantly, so that it displays only items that match the information you enter or select.
To clear all filters and display all of the project's baselines in the dialog, click Clear Filters.
By default, the Baseline drop-down field on the Pull Plan Whiteboard page displays all of the baselines that have been taken of a pull plan. If a large number of baselines have been created, this list can become very long, so you may want to prevent some baselines from appearing in the Baseline drop-down field.
To specify which baselines can be displayed in the whiteboard:
- On the Manage Baseline Snapshots dialog, click the Hidden toggle to the right of a baseline to prevent it from appearing in the Baseline drop-down field on the Pull Plan Whiteboard page, or turn off the toggle to make the baseline appear in the drop-down field.
- Click Close. Your changes are saved and you are returned to the previous page.
Before you delete a baseline, you must make sure that you no longer need to access it.
To delete a baseline:
- On the Manage Baseline Snapshots dialog, select the check box to the left of the baseline you want to delete. You can select more than one baseline.
- Click Delete Selected Items. A popup appears, asking if you are sure that you want to delete the baseline(s).
- Click Yes to delete the baseline(s).
