Editing photographs

Once you have attached photographs to a task or build stage, you can edit them in the following ways:

  • Enter notes about photographs.
  • Annotate photographs with text.
  • Draw directly on photographs.
  • Draw shapes directly onto photographs.
  • Crop, rotate and mirror photographs.
  • Adjust the colour, contrast, brightness, etc of photographs.

Entering notes about photographs

To enter a note about a photograph:

  1. On the Photos screen that displays the photographs that have been attached to a task or build stage, tap the photograph. The Photo Details screen appears, displaying the photograph in detail.
  2. Tap in the Notes field and enter any notes about the photograph.
  3. Tap Back to save the note and return to the Photos screen, where the note appears to the right of the photograph:

Annotating photographs with text

To annotate a photograph with text:

  1. On the Photos screen that displays the photographs that have been attached to a task or build stage, tap the photograph. The Photo Details screen appears, displaying the photograph in detail.
  2. Tap the photograph. The Edit Photo screen appears.
  3. Tap Two capital 'T's - one large; one small to display text editing controls.
  4. Tap a plus symbol and the word "Add" to add a text box to the photograph.
  5. Double-tap the text box to display the Edit Text box.
  6. Enter your annotation text into the Edit Text box then tap DONE. Your text appears in the text box.
  7. Move the text box around the photograph by tapping and dragging it; resize it by tapping and dragging the arrows at its bottom-right corner.
  8. Use the rest of the text annotation controls as follows:
    ControlDescription
    An underlined capital "A"Sets the colour of annotation text.
    An upper-case "A" and a lower-case "A"Sets the font of annotation text.
    Five horizontal lines of varying lengthSets the alignment of annotation text.
    A bold upper-case "B"Applies bold, italic or underline formatting to annotation text.
    A teardrop shape, the lower half shaded blackMakes annotation text more or less transparent.
  9. While editing the photograph, tap a bent arrow, pointing left to undo a change you want to undo, and tap a bent arrow, pointing right to redo a change that you have undone accidentally.
  10. When you have finished editing the photograph, tap Save to save your changes, or tap Reset to abandon your changes and return the photograph to its original state.
  11. Tap Back to return to the Photo Details screen, where your edits are displayed on the photograph.

Drawing directly onto photographs

To draw directly onto a photograph:

  1. On the Photos screen that displays the photographs that have been attached to a task or build stage, tap the photograph. The Photo Details screen appears, displaying the photograph in detail.
  2. Tap the photograph. The Edit Photo screen appears.
  3. Tap a pencil drawing a curved line to display drawing controls.
  4. Draw directly onto the picture.
  5. Use the drawing controls as follows:
    ControlDescription
    Four horizontal blue lines of varying thicknessSets the thickness of drawn lines.
    A pencil positioned diagonally above a horizontal lineSets the colour of drawn lines.
    A teardrop shape, the lower half shaded blackMakes drawn lines more or less transparent.
  6. While editing the photograph, tap a bent arrow, pointing left to undo a change you want to undo, and tap a bent arrow, pointing right to redo a change that you have undone accidentally.
  7. When you have finished editing the photograph, tap Save to save your changes, or tap Reset to abandon your changes and return the photograph to its original state.
  8. Tap Back to return to the Photo Details screen, where your edits are displayed on the photograph.

Drawing shapes directly onto photographs

To draw a shape directly onto a photograph:

  1. On the Photos screen that displays the photographs that have been attached to a task or build stage, tap the photograph. The Photo Details screen appears, displaying the photograph in detail.
  2. Tap the photograph. The Edit Photo screen appears.
  3. Tap a square overlaid by a circle to display shape drawing controls.
  4. Tap a shape - a square, a circle or an arrow - to add it to the photograph.
  5. Move the shape around the photograph by tapping and dragging it; resize it by tapping and dragging the points on its bounding box.
  6. Use the shape drawing controls as follows:
    ControlDescription
    A near-complete circle with a drop-down arrow to the right of itMakes shapes filled or outlined.
    Four horizontal blue lines of varying thicknessSets the thickness of shapes.
    A pencil positioned diagonally above a horizontal lineSets the colour of shapes.

  7. While editing the photograph, tap a bent arrow, pointing left to undo a change you want to undo, and tap a bent arrow, pointing right to redo a change that you have undone accidentally.
  8. When you have finished editing the photograph, tap Save to save your changes, or tap Reset to abandon your changes and return the photograph to its original state.
  9. Tap Back to return to the Photo Details screen, where your edits are displayed on the photograph.

Cropping, rotating and mirroring photographs

To crop, rotate or mirror a photograph:

  1. On the Photos screen that displays the photographs that have been attached to a task or build stage, tap the photograph. The Photo Details screen appears, displaying the photograph in detail.
  2. Tap the photograph. The Edit Photo screen appears.
  3. Tap a bounding box with a square at each corner to display picture editing controls, which you use as follows:

    A cropping gridDisplays a series of cropping grids, which you can apply to the photo, resize by tapping and dragging, then crop to cut down the picture. Cropping grids with an arrow at the top-right corner rotate by 90 degrees if you double-tap them.
    A circular arrow around a central pointRotates the photograph by 90 degrees.
    A vertical line with two opposing arrows, pointing to itMakes a mirror image of the photograph.
  4. While editing the photograph, tap a bent arrow, pointing left to undo a change you want to undo, and tap a bent arrow, pointing right to redo a change that you have undone accidentally.
  5. When you have finished editing the photograph, tap Save to save your changes, or tap Reset to abandon your changes and return the photograph to its original state.
  6. Tap Back to return to the Photo Details screen, where your edits are displayed on the photograph.

Adjusting the visual appearance of photographs

To adjust the visual appearance of photographs:

  1. On the Photos screen that displays the photographs that have been attached to a task or build stage, tap the photograph. The Photo Details screen appears, displaying the photograph in detail.
  2. Tap the photograph. The Edit Photo screen appears.
  3. Tap three lines with a circle on each to display the visual appearance controls, which you use as follows:

    Three overlapping circlesSets the hue of the photograph.
    Two overlapping circlesSets the saturation of the photograph.
    A shining sunSets the brightness of the photograph.
    A circle divided in half vertically, with the right side shadedSets the contrast of the photograph.
    A teardropBlurs the photograph.
    An isosceles triangleSharpens the photograph.
  4. While editing the photograph, tap a bent arrow, pointing left to undo a change you want to undo, and tap a bent arrow, pointing right to redo a change that you have undone accidentally.
  5. When you have finished editing the photograph, tap Save to save your changes, or tap Reset to abandon your changes and return the photograph to its original state.
  6. Tap Back to return to the Photo Details screen, where your edits are displayed on the photograph.
