Setting the server timeout duration
You use the Set Timeout Duration dialog to set the length of time for which a copy of a client's work-in-progress is kept on the server if the client crashes. If the client restarts and logs back onto the same project within this time frame, the server is able to restore all the client's work. After this time, the work-in-progress is deleted. The work-in-progress is stored in the temporary folder that you specify.
To access the Set
Timeout Duration dialog, select the Set
Timeout Duration command from the Server
menu or click
.
If you set the timeout duration to zero, the timeout setting is set to the default of 15 minutes.
The System Administrator can override this timeout and delete a client's work-in-progress immediately, by typing the Purge command at the Enterprise server command prompt.
To set the timeout duration:
- Enter the number of minutes for which you want a copy of the client's work-in-progress to be kept on the server following a crash in the Duration in minutes field.
- Click OK to confirm your changes and close the Set Timeout Duration dialog.
