Creating a baseline from an iteration

Once you have carried out risk analysis, you can create baselines from iterations. You may like to do this before applying iterations to the live schedule, as it gives you the opportunity to experiment with What If scenarios by opening the resulting baseline as a project without affecting the live data. Creating a baseline from an iteration also enables you to compare the original project with the project as it has changed during risk analysis.

To create a baseline from an iteration:

  1. Select the iteration from which you want to create a baseline in the grid on the Results tab of the Risk Analysis dialog.
  2. Click the Create from iteration control and select Baseline. The Baseline Wizard appears.
  3. Enter details of the baseline that you want to create into the wizard.
