Backstage view - Import tab

To access the Backstage view, click the File tab.

1. Click Import from Primavera. The Primavera XML & XER Import Options dialog appears.
2. Specify the project you want to import either by typing a file location, name and extension directly into the File field, or by clicking Browse to select a file.
3. If you want to apply a template to the project that you are importing, select the template in the Use template field and specify the user name and password that are required to open the template (if a user name and password have been set in the template). If you do not apply a template, the project opens with a default bar chart view that contains a standard set of spreadsheet columns.
4. Click the appropriate Calendar for link lag radio button to specify which calendar has been applied to link lags in the project you want to import.
5. Click OK.

4. Enter the units of measurement in the Primavera SureTrak project that are used for permanent resources in the Permanent field. Enter the units of measurement in a comma-separated list, for example h,hr,hour,d,day,w,week,m,month.
5. Enter the units of measurement in the Primavera SureTrak project that are used for costs in the Lump sum cost field. Enter the units of measurement in a comma-separated list, for example $,£,€.
6. Click OK.

1. Click Import from Microsoft Project. The Microsoft Project Import Options dialog appears.
2. Specify the project you want to import either by typing a file location, name and extension directly into the File field, or by clicking Browse to select a file.
3. Select a template in the Use template field to apply a template to the project, or select Blank in the field to import the project without applying a template to it.
4. Select the Import cost allocations check box to import fixed costs on tasks from the Microsoft Project file, or clear the check box to omit fixed costs from the import.
5. Select the Import resource allocations check box to import resource allocations from the Microsoft Project file, or clear the check box to omit resource allocations from the import.
6. Select the Import code libraries check box to import code libraries and code library entries from the Microsoft Project file, or clear the check box to omit code libraries and code library entries from the import.
7. Use the Convert negative costs to field to specify whether to convert negative costs in the Microsoft Project file into income, or to leave them as negative costs in the resulting file.
8. Click OK to import the selected Microsoft Project file.
