Opening a view

To open a view, select it from the list of views in the View dropdown in the View group on the Home tab. If views have been categorised in the project, each category appears as a submenu, with the views within each category appearing as menu commands within each submenu.

When you open a view, it opens using the Programme chart as its scope by default. If you want to open a view using the scope of the current active view, hold down CTRL when selecting the view from the list of views. If you do this, the view opens displaying whichever charts or summary groups provide the scope of the current active view. If you are currently viewing an RBS or CBS view and choose to open a different view, the view opens displaying whichever resources or cost centres provide the scope of the current active RBS or CBS view.

Some views may not be displayed in the dropdown. To open a view that is not displayed in the dropdown:

  1. On the Home tab, click the View dropdown in the View group and select More Views. The More Project Views dialog appears.
  2. Select the view you want to open.
  3. If you want to open the view using the scope of the current active view, select the Open using the active view scope check box.
  4. Click OK to open the view.

Whenever you open a view, it is added to the list of open tabs.
