Introduction to the Ribbon
The Project Viewer Ribbon is designed to help you find the commands that you need as you view your projects quickly and easily. The commands are organised in logical groups, which are collected together on the Home and 4D tabs. You use the commands on the Home tab to configure the way in which to view a project; you use the commands on the 4D tab to configure the way in which to view 3D models and IFC group models that have been associated with a project in Asta Powerproject 4D.
The Ribbon's Home tab is illustrated below:
The File tab is slightly different to the Home and 4D tabs: click this to display the Backstage view, which contains the commands that you use to do things to a project, rather than within a project.
Quick Access toolbar
Above the Ribbon, to the top left of the Project Viewer window, is the Quick Access toolbar:
You use the buttons on this toolbar to access a number of commonly-used commands.
You can choose to display the Quick Access toolbar above or below the Ribbon. To do this:
- Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Quick Access toolbar.
- Select Show Below the Ribbon or Show Above the Ribbon from the menu that appears.
Minimising the Ribbon
You can minimise the Ribbon at any point, which removes it temporarily from view. You may want to do this in order to view more of your project on screen. To do this:
- Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Quick Access toolbar.
- Select Minimise the Ribbon from the menu that appears.
Repeat the steps above to redisplay the Ribbon.
