Working with global files
You use the Global Files page to upload, access and delete global files in Asta Vision. Global files are files to which all users may need access. Examples may include Powerdraw border files, documented procedures, etc. You can make any kind of file available as a global file.
'Global files' are different to Asta Vision's 'global libraries', which are calendars, codes, progress periods, quality checks and resources that can be stored in Asta Vision and used in any number of individual projects, saving you from having to set up the same libraries in your projects multiple times.
To access the Global Files page from the Asta Vision Home page, click Global Files.
When you have finished working with global files, click Close to return to the Home page.
To upload a file and make it available to all users:
- On the Global Files page, click Upload. The Open dialog appears.
- Browse for the file that you want to upload then click Open. You return to the Global Files page, where the new global file appears in the list.
You can also upload global files by clicking and dragging them from Windows Explorer into the Global Files page.
Depending on the type of file, you may be able to view a preview of it. To view a preview of a global file, click its file name on the Global Files page.
To download a global file to your computer, click to the right of the file on the Global Files page.
To delete a global file:
- On the Global Files page, click to the right of the file. A popup appears, asking you to confirm whether you want to delete the global file.
- Click OK to delete the global file and return to the Global Files page.
