Link Category Properties dialog
You use the Details tab of the Link Category Properties dialog to specify the way in which links to which particular categories are applied are displayed on the bar chart.

To access the Link Category Properties dialog, right-click a link category in Library Explorer and select Properties.

Field | Description |
---|---|
Name | Enter a name to apply to the link category. |
Normal link | Click to specify the style of standard links to which this link category is applied. |
Reflected link |
Click to specify the style of reflected links, ie links indicating the existence of a link between tasks in different
|
Half link |
Click to specify the style of half links, ie links between two tasks where only one end of the link is displayed in the current view, to which this link category is applied.
|
Non-driving link |
Click to specify the style of non-driving links to which this link category is applied. This appearance is used for non-driving links if you choose to distinguish them using the Links tab of the Format Bar Chart dialog.
|
Colour theme |
Select a colour in this field to apply the colour to the lines and arrows of each of the link category's link styles, except for the arrow fills of the half link and non-driving link styles, which are by default white. This saves time if you want to set up a link category that uses the same colour for the lines and arrowheads in all link styles, as you do not need to configure the line colour and arrow colour for each link style individually.
If, having applied a colour theme to a link category, you subsequently apply a different colour to the lines or arrows of one of the link styles, the colour you had selected in this field is cleared and you are free to apply different colours to the link category's lines and arrows. |
Override just the display colour of a link's category |
The Critical, Ghosted and Selected link categories are assigned to links automatically (and temporarily) in certain circumstances. When one of these categories is assigned to a link, it alters the appearance of the link from its normal link category to the appearance of the Critical, Ghosted or Selected link category. For example, if the Critical link category has a red appearance, links that become critical are displayed in red for as long as they are on the critical path. You use this check box to specify whether the Critical, Ghosted and Selected link categories override both the colour and the line style of links, or the colour only.
Select this check box to specify that only the colour of links is overridden when they become critical, ghosted or selected, or clear the check box to specify that both the colour and line style of links are overridden.
This check box appears only when you edit the properties of the Critical, Ghosted or Selected link categories.
