Format Histogram dialog - View tab
You use the View tab of the Format Histogram dialog to specify the way in which aspects of the histograms currently on view are displayed. Any changes you make on this tab are applied to all histograms that are currently displayed.

To access the Format Histogram dialog, right-click an open histogram and select Format Histogram, or click on the Histogram toolbar.

Field/Button | Description |

General text - Use spreadsheet default | Select this check box if you want to use the default spreadsheet font in the histogram, or clear the check box if you want to specify a different font and colour. For example, you may want to use a narrower or smaller font in the histogram. |
General text - Select Font | If you have chosen not to use the default spreadsheet font, click this button to specify the font in which to display text in the histogram. |
General text - Font colour selector | Specify the colour in which to display text in the histogram. |
Data-grid text - Use same font as above | Select this check box if you want to use the same font in the data grid as is used in the rest of the histogram, or clear the check box if you want to specify a different font and colour. |
Data-grid text - Select Font | If you have chosen not to use the same font as is used in the rest of the histogram, click this button to specify the font in which to display text in the data grid. |
Data-grid text - Font colour selector | Specify the colour in which to display text in the data grid. |
Item separator | Specify the character(s) you want to use to separate values in the data grid. For example, you might want to use a comma or a dash. |
Left | Click this radio button to align the text in the data grid to the left. |
Centre | Click this radio button to align the text in the data grid to the centre. |
Right | Click this radio button to align the text in the data grid to the right. |
Default background colour | Select a background colour to apply to the histogram. You can override the default background colour for individual histogram rows by specifying a different background colour on the Row tab of this dialog. |
Extend display of exceptions from bar chart calendar |
Select this check box to display calendar exceptions, for example holidays and overtime, in the histogram pane, or clear the check box to omit exceptions from the histogram.
As different tasks and resources can work to different calendars, if you choose to display exceptions in the histogram pane, |
Save to Defaults | Click this button to save the settings you have configured on this tab as defaults, which you can then apply to other histograms. |
Load from Defaults | Click this button to apply a set of histogram configuration settings that you have previously saved to defaults to this histogram. |
Reset Defaults | Click this button to return the histogram configuration defaults back to their original settings. |
How do I...

Select the Use spreadsheet default check box if you want to use the default spreadsheet font in the histogram, or clear the check box and specify a different font and colour if you want to use a different font.

- You can use a different font in the data grid if required. Select the Use same font as above check box if you want to use the same font in the data grid as is used in the rest of the histogram, or clear the check box and specify a different font and colour if you want to use a different font.
- Specify the character(s) you want to use to separate values in the data grid in the Item separator field. For example, you might want to use a comma or a dash.
- Specify the way in which you want to align the text in the data grid cells by clicking one of the Left, Centre or Right radio buttons.

Select a background colour in the Default background colour field.

Select the Extend display of exceptions from bar chart calendar check box to to display calendar exceptions, for example holidays and overtime, in the histogram pane, or clear the check box to omit exceptions from the histogram.

Click Save to Defaults.

Click Load from Defaults.

Click Reset Defaults.
