Cost Centre Properties dialog - Details tab
You use the Details tab of the Cost Centre Properties dialog to view and maintain general details of the selected cost centre. You can name the cost centre and specify its appearance.

To access the Cost Centre Properties dialog, right-click a cost centre in Library Explorer or the project view and select Properties.

Field/Button | Description |
---|---|
Name | Enter the descriptive name of the cost centre, for example Plumbing Costs. |
Cost | The total cost of all allocations of the cost centre. |
Income | The total income from all allocations of the cost centre. |
Cumulative cost | The total cost of all allocations of the cost centre and of any subordinate cost centres. |
Cumulative income | The total income from all allocations of the cost centre and of any subordinate cost centres. |
Calculate | Click this button to calculate the information to display in the above fields, if they do not currently display information. Depending on the size of the project, this calculation may take some time. |
Start | The date and time on which the earliest allocation of the cost centre starts. |
Finish | The date and time on which the latest allocation of the cost centre finishes. |
Not available for new assignments |
Select this check box to prevent the cost centre from being assigned to any tasks
It is good practice to select this check box for cost centres that are no longer used in your projects. |
Appearance |
Select a foreground colour, background colour, pattern and outline style with which to represent the cost centre.
By default, the outline style you select applies only to line-style histogram graphs that use the cost centre appearance. If you want the outline style to apply to the cost centre's allocations, select the Use Line Style On Allocations column check box against the cost centre in Library Explorer. |

Enter a description of the cost centre in the Name field.

Select the Not available for new assignments check box.

Select a foreground fill colour, background fill colour, pattern and outline in the Appearance group.

Click Calculate. Depending on the size of the project, this calculation may take some time.
