Copy View to Project dialog
You use the Copy View to Project dialog to specify the project to which you want to copy the view that you selected on the More Views dialog and to specify a number of options that determine the way in which the view is copied to the destination project.

To access the Copy View to Project dialog, select a view on the More Views dialog then click the Copy To button.

Field | Description |
---|---|
Destination project | Select the project to which you want to copy the view that you selected on the More Views dialog. You can select any project that is currently open. |
Copy associated filter, sort and tables |
Select this check box to copy the filter, sort/group and table that have been applied to the view that you are copying to the destination project, or clear this check box to copy the view without these associated library objects.
If you choose to copy the associated objects and a filter, sort/group or table with the same name already exists in the destination project, the existing object is used and the filter, sort/group or table with the same name is not copied across. If you choose not to copy the associated objects, the view will have no filter or sort applied to it in the destination project.
Note that any library objects that are referred to by filters are not copied to the destination project, which means that filters may not work in the destination project. |
Match missing object references by name |
Select this check box to attempt to match any objects that are referred to by the view to objects in the destination project that have the same name, or clear the check box to revert any such references to default values.
Objects that are affected by this include time units that may be referred to by the date zone or spreadsheet table, or objects that may be referred to by a sort/group. |
Copy view annotations |
Select this check box to copy any annotations that are attached to the view to the destination project, or clear the check box to copy the view without any such annotations.
Selecting this check box does not copy any annotations that are attached to bars or tasks rather than to the view itself.
|
Delete row and cell exceptions |
Select this check box to delete any row and cell exceptions that have been applied to the view's spreadsheet table, or clear the check box to copy row and cell exceptions to the destination project.
In most cases it is advisable not to copy row and cell exceptions to other projects, as they usually refer to specific objects in a project and copying them to another project may mean that the wrong objects are highlighted. |
