Chart/Project Properties dialog - Project tab
You use the Project tab of the Chart/Project Properties dialog to view and record information at the level of individual projects and project groups within a portfolio. This tab is only available when you view the chart properties of a chart that is identified as representing a project, or a project group (a chart that contains one or more projects), within a portfolio of projects that you have built up. You can specify the manager of the project, the likelihood of the project going ahead, and risk, priority, type and status information. You can also view project-level information about the project's dates, resources and costs that has been rolled up from the tasks within the project.
Depending on your access rights, when viewing the properties of the programme chart, you may not be able to edit the date-related fields on this tab.

To access the Chart/Project Properties dialog, right-click a blank area of the bar chart and select Chart Properties, or right-click the icon of a chart or a project in the project view and select Properties.
You cannot access this dialog if the bar chart currently displays a

Manager | Select the permanent resource that represents the person who is responsible for managing the project. |
Percentage likelihood |
Enter the likelihood, in percentage terms, of the project going ahead. You can apply percentage likelihoods to histograms to reflect the likelihood of a project going ahead in the histogram graphs. You can also take percentage likelihoods into account when checking the availability of resources as you assign them to tasks within projects.
Set this field to 100.00 once a planned project gets underway.

Risk | Enter a numerical representation of the risk of the project. |
Priority | Enter a numerical representation of the priority of the project. |
Type | Enter the type of project. |
Status | Enter the current status of the project, for example In Planning, Active, or Complete. |
Project Baseline |
To associate a baseline with the project, select the baseline that contains information relating to the project in this field. Doing this enables you to merge new and updated information into each project's baseline individually and to display baseline information in the spreadsheet and bar chart that relates specifically to the project that is currently in view. Once a baseline has been associated with a project, it is known as a 'project baseline'.

Date zero |
The date at which you want unit numbering in any "elapsed units" or "working units" line that you display in the date zone to begin in the date zone. Setting a "date zero" is useful if, for example, you want to set up a line in the date zone showing elapsed days and have it start numbering from a specific date. If you specify a project-wide "date zero" in this field, it is applied to all new views that you create. However, each view can have its own individual "date zero" - specified in the Date zero field on the Dates/Scales tab of the Date Zone Properties dialog.
If a "date zero" has previously been specified for any individual views and you want them to use the project-wide "date zero", clear the check box in the Date zero field on the Dates/Scales tab of the Date Zone Properties dialog.
If you choose not to specify a "date zero", the start date of the first task in the project - or the imposed project start date, if one has been specified - is used to define the point at which unit numbering in any "elapsed units" or "working units" line should start.
You can configure spreadsheet cells that display "Date/Time"-type fields to display the time period between the "date zero" that you specify and the date or time that the field represents, measured in elapsed days, elapsed weeks or elapsed months.

Delivery date |
The date on which a project must be delivered. You can specify a delivery date for the programme of projects, and a delivery date for each chart or summary group that has been identified as being a project. You can use a project's delivery date as a deadline when rescheduling. If you do this, rather than using the finish date of the last task in the project, the project's late and free finish dates are set to the delivery date when rescheduling and float is calculated out to the project's delivery date. A delivery date provides a deadline for all tasks in the project, so any tasks that exceed the delivery date have negative float (ie they become super-critical) following a reschedule.
The delivery date is also used when checking the quality of a schedule to calculate the project's maximum duration, which is the difference between the project's start date and its delivery date.

Start date | The date and time on which the project starts. |
Finish date | The date and time on which the project finishes. |
Elapsed duration | The duration of the project from start to finish, taking into account both working and non-working time. |
Cumulative duration | The sum of all the individual task durations within the project. This will probably be longer than the Cumulative duration, as it is likely that some tasks within the project take place at the same time. |
Duration | The duration of the project from start to finish, taking into account working time only. |
Scheduled effort | The amount of effort in the project to which specific resources have been assigned. |
Demand effort | The amount of effort in the project to which resource folders have been assigned but to which specific resources have not yet been assigned. |
Cost | The project's planned cost. |
Income | The project's planned income. |
Actual effort | The amount of effort that has been expended on the project to date. |
Percent complete | The percentage of the project that has been completed to date. |
Actual cost | The amount of cost that has been expended on the project to date. |
Actual cumulative duration | The sum of all the individual task durations within the project that have been completed to date. |

Select the permanent resource that represents the person who is responsible for managing the project in the Manager field.

Enter the likelihood, in percentage terms, of the project going ahead in the Percentage likelihood field.

Select the baseline that contains information relating to the project in the Project baseline field.

- Click Baseline merge. You see the first screen of the Baseline Wizard.
- Follow the instructions in the Baseline Wizard to merge new and changed data into the baseline.
