Calendar Properties dialog - Exception Assignments tab
You use the Exception Assignments tab of the Calendar Properties dialog to assign one or more exceptions to the selected calendar. An exception is an irregular period of working or non-working time, such as overtime, holidays or hospital appointments. You can also use this tab to remove exceptions from the selected calendar and to copy exceptions from the calendar to one or more other calendars, or to the Windows® Clipboard. Once you have assigned an exception to a calendar, it appears graphically on the Calendar tab.

To access the Calendar Properties dialog, right-click a calendar in Library Explorer or the project view and select Properties.

The dialog displays the following information about each exception:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Exception | Specify the type of exception, for example Holiday or Overtime. |
Start date | Specify the date and time on which the exception starts. |
Finish date | Specify the date and time on which the exception finishes. |
The dialog displays the following buttons:

How do I...

- Click Add, or click the first blank line in the exception list. An exception is added to the first blank line.
- Click the name of the exception and select the exception you want to assign to the calendar from the dropdown.
- Specify the dates on which the exception should begin and end in the Start date and Finish date fields.

- Select the exception you want to remove from the calendar.
- Click Remove.

- Click the exception you want to copy to another calendar. You can CTRL-click to select more than one exception at the same time.
- Right-click one of the selected exceptions and select Copy exceptions to. The Copy Exceptions dialog appears.
- Select the calendar(s) to which you want to copy the selected exception(s) by selecting the check box to the left of the calendar name. Alternatively, click Select all calendars if you want to copy the exception(s) to all other calendars.
- Select the Warn me about conflicting exception assignments check box if you want to be warned if one of the exceptions you are copying overlaps with one or more existing exceptions in the selected calendar(s), or clear the check box to copy the exceptions to the other calendars without any such warnings.
If you choose to be warned of any exception conflicts, the Overlapping Exceptions dialog will appear if any conflicts arise, prompting you to specify whether the exception you are copying should replace (or partially replace) the existing exception, or whether the exception should not be copied. If you choose to copy exceptions without being warned of conflicts, the exception(s) you are copying will automatically replace (or partially replace) any existing exceptions with which they conflict. - Click Copy exceptions to copy the selected exception(s) to the selected calendar(s).

- Click the exception you want to copy to another calendar. You can CTRL-click to select more than one exception at the same time.
- Right-click one of the selected exceptions and select Copy. The selected exceptions are copied to the Windows Clipboard.
You can now paste details of the copied exceptions into another application, for example Windows Notepad or Microsoft Excel®. If you paste exceptions into a Microsoft Excel workbook, details of the exceptions appear in three columns: one for the exception type, one for the start date and one for the finish date.
The Exception Assignments tab may not currently be displayed on the Calendar Properties dialog. If it is not currently visible, click More >> to display it. If you do not want this tab to appear, you can hide it from view along with the Work Pattern Assignments tab by clicking Less <<.
