Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog - Link tab
You use the Link tab of the
Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog to specify the attributes that you want to assign to new links by default.
How to access the Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog
To access the Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog, on the Project tab, in the Properties group, click Bar Chart Defaults.
Explanation of the fields on the dialog

| Link category |
Select the category in which to place new links by default.
You can define any number of link categories in Library Explorer and choose which categories are displayed at any one time using the Links tab of the Format Bar Chart dialog. For example, you might want to place all your commercially-sensitive links in a Sensitive category and only display that category when discussing the project with senior management. |
| Draw vertical links curved |
Select this check box to draw new vertical links with a curve by default, or clear the check box to draw vertical links as straight lines. Drawing vertical links with a curve can make them easier to see when links overlap or when they appear on top of a vertical grid line.

| Annotate lead/lag | Select this check box to display the amount of lead/lag on the bar chart next to new links by default, or clear the check box to display new links without a lead/lag annotation. |
| Automatic curved link settings | Select this check box to use Asta Powerproject's default curved link settings, or clear the check box if you want to specify your own settings. If you clear the check box, specify your own settings using the Draw to left and Draw to right radio buttons and the Curvature percentage field. |
| Draw to left | If you are not using Asta Powerproject's default curved link settings, click this radio button if you would like new links to curve to the left when they are vertical. |
| Draw to right | If you are not using Asta Powerproject's default curved link settings, click this radio button if you would like new links to curve to the right when they are vertical. |
| Curvature percentage | If you are not using Asta Powerproject's default curved link settings, select the percentage by which you would like new links to curve when they are vertical; the higher the percentage, the greater the curve. |
| Defaults for start of link - lag type | Specify whether lead and lag time is calculated as a duration or as a percentage at the start of new links by default. When calculated as a duration, lead/lag is not recalculated if the duration of the task at the start of the link changes. |
| Defaults for finish of link - lag type | Specify whether lead and lag time is calculated as a duration or as a percentage at the finish of new links by default. When calculated as a duration, lead/lag is not recalculated if the duration of the task at the finish of the link changes. |
